What is a traumatic brain injury?
A traumatic brain injury (TBI) may be caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head. This trauma causes damage to the cells in the brain, which affects how the brain works.
Symptoms of TBI
Symptoms that may occur after TBI include:

Headaches

Dizziness

Visual changes

Confusion

Difficulty with memory

Difficulty concentrating

Decreased coordination

Imbalance

Muscle weakness

Pain

Changes in personality

Many of these symptoms can be improved with physical and occupational therapy.
